Love the idea of dressing up as your favourite character but never touched a needle and thread in your life (or just never paid attention to those home economics lessons in high school)?
Our good friend Bernadette Thomas (aka Needlewitch) who has been sewing in some form or another for 37 years and was responsible for re raising the ACT chapter of the Australian Sewing Guild is at hand to help!
Needlewitch has a huge range of sewing classes (http://www.needlewitch.com.au/current_class_list_38.html) on offer to teach sewing basics and everything about fabrics, needles and thread, use of an over locker and garment making at a beginner or intermediate level including things like measuring, fitting, patterns and all the other skills needed to make anything from a basic skirt to a full blown medieval gown with all the trimmings.
If you are interested in joining one of her classes please send her an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call her store on (02) 6239 1900 on Thursday/Friday 1pm – 5pm or Saturday 10am – 5pm.
Needlewitch will also be teaching a special Costuming 101 class at GAMMA.CON on Friday 22nd of May, so keep an eye out for more details!
