Eckersley’s Art and Craft Creative Zone
If touring the attractions of GAMMA.CON has gotten your creative juices flowing then head to the Eckersley’s Art and Crafts Creative Zone to express yourself and get arty in a friendly environment with a crowd of other pop culture fans!
Dan Watt’s Comic Character Workshop Saturday 10:00 – 11:00 - Join professional illustrator and comic artist Dan Watts (creator of BIPP AND TRAX INTERGALACTIC REAL ESTATE) for a hands on drawing class exploring 3 steps to designing a character.
Free draw – pull up a chair and use the provided supplies to draw whatever you feel like and when finished get your masterpiece put up on our public gallery of GAMMA.CON Creative awesomeness to all other attendees to see.
Colouring – if creating art from scratch is your thing but you still want to put colour to canvas then grab a colouring template of our mascots Serena, Souzen or Occhi and bring them to colourful life and submit to our public gallery of GAMMA.CON awesomeness.
Pop Culture Origami – grab some scissors and glue and construct your own miniature pop culture figure out of cardboard and take it away with you to show off on the convention floor and have a creative memento of your day at GAMMA.CON.
Free Draw Wall – If you want to put your own mark on GAMMA.CON the Free Draw Wall will be back. Grab a marker and join in the group mural to doodle anything you want, sign your own personal message or add to the existing works on display.
Eckersley’s Art Competition – All art entered into the 2017 Eckersley’s Art Competition will be on public display in the Creative Zone for you to admire and indulge your inner critic. If you want to enter the art competition all details can be found here https://gammacon.org.au/eckersleysart/
Eckersley’s Quick Draw Art Contest –
GAMMA.CON 2017 presents the Iron Artist of art competitions! Artists will be given just 5 minutes to give us their best art piece starting from scratch using only what is provided in the Eckersley’s Art Area. Entries will then be displayed on our art board for judging over the weekend.
All participants must register their attempt at Quick Draw with a GAMMA.CON volunteer before they start to have their entry recorded.
Participants will have 5 minutes to produce their entry.
Participants can only use the art supplies provided in the art area.
When their 5 minutes have expired participants must stop and present their work.
Participants must ensure they have their contact details on the back of their entry.
